Lesley Grainger Browne

October 18, 1930 - June 24, 2022

Lesley Grainger Browne, 91, of Lincoln passed away Friday evening June 24, 2022, surrounded by family. Lesley was born in Lincoln, NE on October 18, 1930, and raised in Salinas, CA.

She returned to Lincoln to attend the University of Nebraska Lincoln where she received her BA degree.

Lesley married William H. Browne, Jr. on February 7, 1953, and raised their family in Lincoln. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, Junior League of Lincoln, Patriarchs, Colonial Dames, and Lincoln Country Club.
Lesley enjoyed playing tennis and golf around several different venues. Her greatest joy was spending time with family often hosting Sunday night dinners.

She is survived by her husband, William H. Browne Jr., daughter Susan Avery Nansel and husband Loren, sons William H Browne III, and Robert G. Browne and wife Lana, 3 grandsons Jacob (Tara) Nansel, Ramse (Kammie) Nansel and Grainger Ladd (fiancé Whitney Otto) Browne, 3 great granddaughters Bailey Nansel, Tatum and Ella Tenorio.

Preceded in death by her parents Joseph Leslie and Olive (Ladd) Grainger, brother Robert Grainger, sister Olive Bundgard, all of Salinas, CA.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday (7-1-22) Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.

Bill Grainger and family extend condolences to Uncle Brownie and family. Aunt Lesley was a big part of Bill’s growing up years. Every year we hang on our tree the many hand-made Christmas ornaments she made for us and other family members! She will be missed!
