Obituary

Marguerite “Marge” Ragain

July 12, 1927 - May 29, 2026

Marge passed away on May 29, 2026, in Lincoln, NE.  She was born on July 12, 1927, to Chris and Altie (Black) Imboden in Odin, IL.  She married Bill Ragain on October 9, 1946, and together they created cherished memories with family.

In 1979 she graduated from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy and, after moving to Lincoln, worked at the pharmacy at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital where she made lifelong friendships.  She retired at the age of 91.

Marge poured her heart into loving her family.  She was fiercely loyal to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  We were all so very lucky to call her “Gran.”  We will never forget her love of KU basketball and golf and will miss her wonderful pies!

Marge is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Al) Steckelberg; son, James Ragain; daughter-in-law, Alecia Ragain; grandchildren, Jamie (Jeff) Scott, Ali (Scott) Piper, Kelsey Ragain, Matthew Ragain, and Abbey Ragain; great-grandchildren, Mara Scott, Preston Scott, Oliver Piper, and Adeline Piper.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill.

Celebration of Life:  Thursday, June 18, 2026, 11:00 AM, Venue 5 Twenty-Two, 1525 Yankee Hill Rd, Lincoln, NE.  Private family graveside service.

Memorials are designated to Hospice of Nebraska.
