Richard “Rick” Allen Swyers, 73, of Lincoln, NE passed away June 9, 2026. He was born February 15, 1953 in Springfield, MA to Albert Harrison and Ruth (Caron) Swyers.
He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in MCAS, El Toro in 1972, during Vietnam on Crash Crew. He then served on the Fire Department for the City of Fairbury, NE before moving to Lincoln and working in the Plumbing trade.
Rick was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, where he played guitar for the Worship team. He loved fishing, camping, bowling, pool, playing guitar and cribbage.
He is survived by his wife, Roxanne; sons, Mike (Amanda) Swyers, Mark (Hilary) Swyers and Eric (Erin) Swyers, all of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Addison Swyers, Micah Swyers, Greyson Swyers, Wyatt Swyers, Casen Swyers, Camie Swyers, Caelan Swyers and Clayton Swyers; sister, Donna (Tim) Sheperd, of Wales, MA; step sisters, Jackie Duda, of Kilmamock, VA and Virginia Palotta, of Agawam, MA; along with step brother, Andrew (Nancy) Canevari, of Bradenton, FL.
Visitation will take place 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1800 S. 84th Street, Lincoln, NE.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1800 S. 84th Street, Lincoln, NE.
Internment at Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln, NE.
