Renee was born in Bottineau, North Dakota, on July 5, 1955. She was the youngest of a set of triplets. Renee spent the first five years of her life in Jamestown, North Dakota, becoming a Nebraskan in 1960. Her parents were Vernelle and Bernadine Ness.
Renee was a graduate of Lincoln East High School in the class of 1973. She attended Meadow Lane Elementary, Culler Junior High, and Lincoln East High School. She attended secretarial school and proceeded to join the working world, ending her career at Kawasaki after over 35 years of dedication.
Renee was always a joy to be around. She was creative, loyal, and a good and true friend. She loved plants and, of course, her dogs! If you knew her, we all can easily agree that she was such a sweet soul that we shall miss.
Renee is preceded in death by her father and her mother, Vernelle J. Ness and Bernadine S. (Spitzer) Ness. She is also preceded by her husband of many years, Brian T. Paul, and her brother, Royal Ness.
Surviving Renee is her son, Damon Hall, his wife, Jami, and their children, Darin and Dalton.
She is remembered by siblings Velma (Bob) Lassen, of Firth; Lloyd (Mary) Ness, of Sarasota, FL; and Robert (Shelley) Ness, of Kearney. She is also remembered by Brian’s children, Shannon Scott, Chelsea Paul, and Ashley Taylor; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation for Renee will be held on Monday June 22, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Roper and Sons South Chapel. A celebration of life for Renee will be held on Tuesday June 23, 2026, at 1:00pm at Roper and Sons South Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Dr.
The family requests memorials to be designated to Capital Humane Society.
