Donald A. Gies, 83, of Lincoln, passed away on July 16, 2026. He was born on October 14, 1942 in Lincoln, NE to John Jr. and Ada (Howard) Gies. Donald served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He later worked as a truck driver for many years with Consolidated Freightways, and Ace Hardware. Donald was a member at Calvary Community Church.

Family members include his son, Adam Gies; brother, John H. (Cheryl) Gies of Gilbert, AZ; sister, Donna J. Bolingbroke of Sun City, Arizona; step-son, Brian Finney of Lincoln, NE; and nieces & nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2026 at Roper & Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street in Lincoln.
