Born to Eskel Johnson and Vina “Ellen” Vanover-Johnson in Beatrice NE. Patsy was the youngest of six siblings; Brothers: Harold Johnson, Cecil Eugene Johnson, William “Bill” Johnson, Sisters: Wanda Russell, and Beverly Hubbard. Patsy attended Beatrice Public Schools. On July 17th, 1961 Patsy married Cecil R. Mann. From this union four children were born, Russel Mann, Ronald Mann and wife Barbara, Gregory Mann and wife Gail, Juli Lamb and significant other Jay Johnson. Patsy has twelve grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Patsy enjoyed the outdoors. She loved to fish and whittle beautiful things out of wood. She was especially known for her beautiful custom made canes. Patsy loved the Arizona desert, she spent many winters there with her best friend Marge. They would spend the winter there in their RV visiting with their “snowbird” friends. Patsy spent many hours looking for desert rose rocks or any rock that caught her eye. Patsy also hunted rattlesnakes, she would tan the skin and turn it into belt buckles to give away to her friends and family.
Patsy was known as tough and resilient, there was nothing that she couldn’t do. Her stubbornness and failure to quit led to her being so good at everything. These were some of her best qualities that she passed along to several family members. In addition to all of that Patsy had a huge heart, always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. She was a caregiver to friends and family who needed extra help after a surgery or illness. Patsy gave generously to those in need, never expecting anything back, always saying “You don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.” Not many who met her didn’t end up calling her a friend. She touched so many people in her lifetime. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, niece, a wife, cousin, and friend to many who loved her.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband Cecil R. Mann, her parents Eskel and Vina “Ellen” Johnson, brothers Harold Johnson, Cecil Eugene Johnson, William Johnson, sister Wanda Russell, many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friend Margery Keefover.
Funeral services will be held March 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Wymore Church of Christ, with Clayton Lundstedt officiating. There will be no viewing as it was Patsy’s wish to be cremated. There will be a luncheon immediately following the funeral. Casual attire or flannel attire requested.
