On August 31, 1955, she married Robert “Jake” Jacobs, and together they had four daughters and enjoyed 60 years of married life together. She was a successful floral and bridal business owner in Fremont. In 1976, they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and opened the first full service bridal shop there, named J’Maries Bridal Shoppe. They worked together all day, every day and used their joint talents to run a successful business for over 40 years.

Her family was most important to her and befriended everyone she met.
