Neil and Marcy (Haskell) were married shortly after on May 31, 1975 in Chappell, Nebraska.
They made their home in Alliance, Nebraska, where Neil started his own business, “Neil’s Electric Service.” In 1997, Neil worked for BNSF as an electrician until he retired after 23 years.
Neil was a jack of all trades. He rebuilt numerous vehicles, built additions to his home and loved digging trenches with his Ditch Witch trencher. In his spare time Neil enjoyed running the family farm by Lodgepole.
Neil was a great father. He instilled honesty, loyalty and hard work into each kid. Neil’s favorite role was being a grandfather. He loved to spoil his grandchildren with food and attention.
Neil is survived by his three children: Mandy (Dan) Rohrer of Creighton, Nebraska, Megan (Phil) Bohlen of Memphis, Nebraska, and Jason (Dallas) Merrihew of Aurora, Colorado.
Grandchildren: Makayla (Jared) Saggau, Carter (Kaitlyn) Rohrer, Alicia (Angel) Bohlen-Nazario, Abbey Rohrer, Caleb Bohlen, Bryce Rohrer, Alex Rohrer, and Layne Merrihew. Great-grandson, Henry Saggau, and a great-granddaughter, whom he was over the moon excited to meet, around Christmas.
Brother, Jerry (Cheryl) Merrihew of Ashby, Sister-in-Law Lucy Stickley of Sidney, Brother-in-law Charlie Munn of Mullen and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Marcy, his parents – Bob & Eileen Merrihew, sister -Sandy Munn.
A service and burial will take place at a future date.
