Sandra Kay “Sandy” Mayhew, 69, passed away peacefully August 26, 2016 at the Ashland Care Center. Born January 14, 1947 in Beatrice, NE to Leslie and Nola (Petet) Mayhew. Sandy graduated from high school in 1965 and received her BA in Education from Kearney State College in 1972. She taught school in Georgia for 10 years. She then worked for Girl Scouts USA in New York City for 20 years, 15 years as a National Staff Consultant in New York City.
Sandy is survived by her brothers, Tom Mayhew and Dan (Kim) Mayhew; sister, Becky (Blaine) Lyons, all of Lincoln; aunt, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents in 2014 and 2016.
Private family interment in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice, NE.
Memorials may be given to the Homestead Girl Scout Council .
No Visitation/Cremation.
