LaDonna Sundquist

October 26, 1952 - April 13, 2024

LaDonna Sundquist, 71, of Curtis, passed away in Lincoln on April 13, 2024. She was born on October 26, 1952 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Nelson and Mary Lou (Florom) Vreeland.

LaDonna married her husband Jerry, of 54 years in 1968. To this union, three children: Michelle, Michael, and Jeremy, were born.  LaDonna was a proud community member, crafter, and traveler. She enjoyed serving on numerous community boards in Curtis, including the Methodist Church, Star Movie Theater, and Curtis Housing Authority. Jerry and LaDonna spent time traveling, whether it be traveling to craft shows, to see family, or to camp at Johnson lake.

 

LaDonna was an avid bowler, lifelong reader, card and bingo player, and loved crocheting. She was known for having a mean sweet tooth and enjoyed going to the casino to play slots. LaDonna loved the friends she met from her time spent at Pemberly Place.

 

LaDonna is survived by her children Michelle Hackney and Michael (Vickie) Sundquist; grandchildren Alec Hackney (fiancé Velvet Chavez), Alise (Chandler) Wroten, Cole Sundquist (fiancé Camryn Evans), Tyler Sundquist, and Gracie Sundquist; great-grandchild Kailie Rose Sundquist; siblings Kirk Vreeland, Mark (Barb) Vreeland, Kelly (Randy) Peterson, and Denise (Jerry) Wilcox; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Preceded in death by her husband Jerry Sundquist, parents Nelson and Mary Lou Vreeland, son Jeremy Sundquist, son-in-law Jim Hackney, brother Greg Vreeland, and sister Debbie Vreeland. 

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive, 68516.

How I loved my cousin, LaDonna and all of her family. She amazed me when she said I should stay at her house when visiting in Curtis whether she was home or not. A door would be left unlocked. My heart is broken and I will miss her for ever!
