Judy Jo Wiegert, age 75 of Lincoln died January 11, 2018 at Havelock Manor in Lincoln. Judy was born February 26, 1942 in Grand Island, the daughter of LaVerne and Irma (Oliver) Roby. She married Dean Alfred Wiegert August 20, 1961 in Grand Island. Judy lived in Lincoln most of her life and was a para educator at Dawes School in Lincoln more than 35 years. She was honored with the Lincoln Public Schools Gold Star Award. Judy was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and loved knitting, fishing, boating, spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Survivors include her husband, Dean; sons, Matthew Wiegert and wife Annette; Mark Wiegert and wife Kari; and Tim Wiegert, all of Lincoln; grandchildren, Micah, Kate, Thomas, Lindsey, Grace and Dean; sister, Sharon Moore of Grand Island; sister in law and brother in law, Audrey and Bob Sherman of Lincoln; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Rogene Mabe.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 510 S. 33rd St. in Lincoln with burial in Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln.
Visitations will be 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Roper & Sons Mortuary, 4300 O St. in Lincoln with the family greeting friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M.
