Duane Edward LaPlante

Duane Edward LaPlante, 75, of Lincoln, passed away (9/12/17). Duane was born (1/27/42) in Sturgeon Bay, WI to Edward and Charlotte (Beckstrom) LaPlant. Auto Technician for 46 years. Duane owned and ran his own archery business, Arrow Rest Archery, where he enjoyed sport archery and bowhunting. He was an avid and very accomplished woodworker. He was a member of St. John of Kronstadt Orthodox Church in Lincoln where he built the Iconostas.

Family members include his wife of 56 years, Judith; daughter, Claudette Smith of Hickman, her children Dylan and Gwen Arthur; son, Christopher (Deborah) LaPlante of Ceresco, their children, Alexander and Amanda LaPlante; daughter, Jennifer (Craig) Anderson of Lincoln, their children, Michael, Rosemary and Jacob Anderson; He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Myron, sister, Darlene, and sons-in-laws, James Douglass and Andrew Smith.

Funeral Service to be held, 2:00 p.m., Saturday (9/16/17) at Roper and Sons Funeral Home, 4300 ‘O’ St, Lincoln. Burial will be in the Greenwood Memorial Cemetery, Greenwood, NE

Memorials may be given to the family for a future designation.

Visitation will be Friday, (9/15/17) from 2-8 p.m., at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street, with family greeting friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
