Brenda (Chapman) Reckewey

December 13, 1956 - February 5, 2019

Brenda (Chapman) Reckewey

Brenda (Chapman) Reckewey, 62, of Lincoln, passed away February 5, 2019, surrounded by love after a brief but gracefully fought illness.

She was born to Donald and Maxine (Wallace) Chapman in Lincoln, NE on December 13, 1956, a birthday she shared with her mother.

Her great loves were her husband, Russ Reckewey, whom she married on March 11, 1983, their daughter, Alison and their miniature schnauzers.

Brenda could often be found attending concerts, cheering on the Huskers, and gathering with friends and family at Old Chicago restaurants. She gave generously to others and freely shared her love and sense of humor.

A 1975 graduate of Beatrice Sr. High School, she went on to work for American Charter and later Waddell & Reed before retiring in 2016. Concert goers and sports fans may remember her friendly smile from Pinnacle Bank Arena, Memorial Stadium and the Lincoln Stars Ice Box, where she worked events.

Brenda will be remembered by her husband, Russ; daughter, Alison, of Lincoln; brother, Bruce (Linda) Chapman, of Omaha; and many adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday (2-9-19) at Roper & Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Dr. (40th & Yankee Hill Rd).

A lifelong lover of animals, memorials can be made in her memory to Capital Humane Society.
