Betty worked for and retired from Tier One Bank. She was Lutheran and had a strong faith. Betty was a member of the Optimists Club; she helped write the newsletter and at one time was president of the local chapter. Betty also volunteered for many many organizations.
Family members include her son Scott Wellensiek; stepchildren Gary Totten (Kathy), Linda Vanderhoof (Jon), Sandra Hogan, Pamela Webb, Patti Larson, Terry Totten (Michaela); several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a new great-great grandson. She is also survived by close cousins. Preceded in death by her parents and husband Gale.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Voss Mohr Cemetery (138th and Harrison) in Omaha.
