Bernice Kathryn Ems, 97, of Lincoln passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side on April 29, 2026. Born July 18, 1928, in Wilber, NE to Frank and Elsie (Tupa) Havel.

Bernice was a registered nurse.

Family members include her children Roger Ems, Elkhorn, Sandra (Robert) Tuma, Douglas Ems, Steven (Cathy) Ems, all of Lincoln; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husbands Wilbur Nolda and Orris Ems, daughter Kathy Durand, son Rickey Ems, brother Frank Havel, Jr., and sister Doris Jean Havel.

Funeral service: 1:00 pm Monday, May 4, 2026, Metcalf Funeral Chapel, 245 North 27th Street. Interment in Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation one hour prior to service.
