Joyce was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lanham, KS on April 22, 1945. She was confirmed at St. John’s on May 11, 1959.
Joyce was raised on a farm in Odell and graduated from Odell High School in 1963. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University for one year following graduation where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She earned her bachelor’s degree in administrative resource management in 2002 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln while working full-time and raising her children.
While attending college she worked for Tabitha. Her other employment was with Lincoln Drug Company, Kelly Services, Malcolm Young Law Office, Attorney General’s Office, Marti, Dalton, Bruckner, O’Gara & Keating (eventually Bruckner, O’Gara, Keating, Hendry, Davis and Nedved), and finally, Bruckner/Fowles Law Firm from 1995 until her passing.
Joyce married Robert W. White in August 1967. Two children were born to this union – Kimberly and Brian.
Joyce was an active member of Holy Savior Lutheran Church where she was involved in numerous Bible study groups, Altar Guild, global missions, and assisted in getting the HSLC Foundation re-established. She was an avid Husker fan, enjoyed traveling, walking, reading, gardening, playing cards, and helping children with various home improvement projects. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, taking many trips to Overland Park to watch grandsons play sports, and rarely missed her granddaughter’s activities around the Lincoln area.
Joyce married Norman “Dale” Siebe on Christmas Eve day in 1997.
Joyce was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother.
Family members include her husband, Dale Siebe; daughter Kimberly White, Lincoln; son Brian (Kelly) White, Overland Park, KS; granddaughter Shelbey (Keaton) Hartsook; grandsons Eastin White, Connor White, and Beckett White; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, sisters Jackie (Marvin) Ruyle and Karen (Wally) Bonner, and brother Dean Maatsch.
Funeral service: 12:00 PM Friday, August 14, 2026, Holy Savior Lutheran Church, 4710 N. 10th Street. Burial in Lincoln Memorial Park.
