Obituary

Eric R. Supencheck

September 1, 1976 - August 28, 2026

Eric Raymond Supencheck, aka “Soupy”, 49, of Lincoln, passed away tragically on August 28, 2026, in a motorcycle accident, “doing what he loved.”

Eric was born September 1, 1976, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Beverly Supencheck and Chet Schade. He strongly disliked Columbus, however (likely because of all the trouble he got himself into while living there), and moved to Lincoln in 1996, where he married Jamie Bender in February 1999. Together, they had two children, Paige and Jax, and later divorced. In 2022, Eric became a Pappa to the orneriest little boy, Baker, aka BDB, who was the light of his life.

Eric owned his own handyman business, ERS Solutions, and was a jack of all trades. He was always willing to help anyone in need, WITH the exception of plumbing and electrical. He didn’t mess with those, but he always “knew a guy.”

Eric had an untouchable work ethic. He worked hard, played hard, but most importantly, loved hard. Words can’t begin to explain how much he meant to so many. He will be greatly missed. We find peace in knowing he is with the Lord. The reunion between him and his mother, whom he missed greatly, would have been a beautiful sight to see.

He is survived by his daughter, Paige “Roon” (Joseph “hoey negro”) Black; son, Jaxton “J” Supencheck; grandson, Baker Black “BDB”; sister, Tami Young “spud”; nephews, Kadence and Decon; brothers, Moses and Matthew Schade. He is preceded in death by his parents, Beverly Supencheck and Chet Schade.

Visitation with family present will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Calvary Community Church, 4400 N. 1st St.

Funeral service: 10:00 am Friday, September 4, 2026, at Calvary Community Church.

Burial at Fairview Cemetery, 8400 Adams St.

I remember on a very sunny day during the summer Eric went over to Dusty’s house, my dad had just gotten a three wheeler and brought it over to show Eric and dusty, well Eric being the daredevil he was, got on the three wheeler and was trying to do a wheelie he ended up hitting the neighbors mailbox and they had to replace it. Eric felt bad that he hit the mailbox but my dad and dusty were laughing and gave him so much crap for that and obviously he eventually thought it was funny that night! That was all they talked about, Eric will be dearly missed by not only those who knew his personally but by those who he came across as his presence was pure happiness and humor.

I met Eric so many years ago. Long before Paige and Jax arrived. At the time, my 2 kids were so young , 5 & 2. Eric many times encouraged my son Trei do learn how to be a daredevil yet each time would catch him by the waist and stop him from getting really hurt. Fast forward nearly 25 years and Trei ran into Eric at a job site. Eric the drywall we and Trei the electrician. They spent many nights talking. Eric talking to Trei on how to deal with life and sometimes Trei would give the talking to Eric. I love Eric for being my friend but more importantly for being a friend to my son. We miss you Eric , fly high my friend til we meet again.

My condolences to Eric’s family. I remember him as a student in my 7th grade social studies class at CMS. Eric had a way of getting into mischief w/o being a mean kid and I always liked him(even if he didn’t do his homework). He left this world far too early. May your memories of him warm your hearts in the days and years to come.
