Obituary

Theodore “Ted” Stuckey

May 21, 1951 - August 11, 2026

Ted Stuckey was born on May 21, 1951, to Clifford and Carol (Worrell) Stuckey in Cozad, NE, and stepped into heaven on August 11, 2026, after a short battle with cancer.

Ted graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1969, where he lettered in football, and was known as the life of the party.

While attending UNL, he met and married Annette Peterson, and they moved back to Cozad, where Ted joined his father in farming and ranching. They were blessed with two children, Hollie and Matt. In 1985, the family moved to Lincoln, and Ted obtained his Associate’s Degree in Nursing Home Administration. He worked in this field for a number of years in both Lincoln and Ogallala.

Later in life, Ted met and married Connie Jackson. Together they enjoyed time spent in Colorado and a mutual love for their pets, Lizzie and Precious.

Eventually, Ted’s career was in truck driving, and it was during a drive through Wisconsin in 2017 that he suddenly came to a deep awareness of His need for Jesus. Ted suffered profound hearing loss late in his life, which seemed to contribute to his desire to be alone, studying scripture, writing and applying it to his life.

Ted is survived by his daughter, Hollie Otto of Lincoln; his son, Matt Stuckey of Chicago; and two grandsons, Conner Otto and Caleb Otto (and girlfriend Avi) of Lincoln. He also leaves behind his brother, Tom Stuckey of Cheyenne; sisters Susie (Jeff) Cornelius of Cozad and Sandy (Mark) Sunderman of Lincoln; stepdaughter Rebecca “Becky” Stevenson-Jackson of Lincoln; step-grandchildren Kaine, Jeffrey, LaRyssa, and JaeLee; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Connie, his parents, brother, Stephen, and son-in-law, Mark Otto.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Grace Chapel (1345 S 16th St Ste 1, Lincoln, NE 68502).

The family wishes to thank St. Croix Hospice and The Grace Space for their care of Ted in his final days.

Memorials are suggested to Grace Chapel Mercy Closet or The Paul and Neva Grace Foundation.
