Catherine E. Cave or better known as Elaine, 91, of Lincoln, passed away July 20, 2017. Born on August 10, 1925 in Fulda, Minnesota to John and Agnes (Meyer) Fixemer. She attended Fulda High School in Minnesota, and graduated in 1941. Elaine worked as a manager of the Food Stores Dept. at the University of Nebraska for 22 years before retiring in 1990.
She was a member of St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, St. John’s Altar Society, past President of American Business Women’s Association, University Association for Administrative Development (U.A.A.D.) and Board Director for University of Nebraska Office Professionals Association (U.N.O.P.A.), both at the University of Nebraska, and Goodyear Retirees Club.
Family members include her daughters, Judith Beebe and Cathy (J.D.) Lobb; son, William “Bud” (Marion) Cave; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joy; sons, John and Mark; and sisters, Gladys, Verna, Dorothy, and Agnes; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Rosary: 10:00 a.m. Saturday (7-29-17) followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, 7601 Vine Street with Fr. Lyle Johnson officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the family for her great-grandchildren’s educational fund. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday with family present from 6-8 p.m. at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
