Born on February 10, 1936, Virginia dedicated her life to education, family, and service to her community. She spent many years as a schoolteacher, touching countless lives with her patience, kindness, and unwavering belief in the importance of reading. She was devoted, thoughtful, and deeply committed to helping children succeed.
Virginia married her beloved husband, Allen Overcash, in 1959. Together they were a great team until Allen’s passing in 2024. Their life together was rooted in love, mutual respect, and devotion. They especially enjoyed time with family, camping, and life at their farm.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie; her son, James, and his spouse, Marcy; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, all of whom were a constant source of joy and pride in her life.
Virginia will be remembered with love and gratitude.
A private family service will be held.
Memorials in Virginia’s honor may be directed to the Allen Overcash Construction Law Fund at the University of Nebraska Foundation.
