P. Craig Smith, 78, passed away peacefully in Lincoln on March 24, 2019. Craig was born on August 22, 1940 to Clifford P. and Leora A. (Minnis) Smith in Stafford, KS. He worked as a Civil Engineer, P. E. Emeritus and as a State Design Engineer for the NRCS and USDA retiring in 2001.
He was a member of the Professional Engineers of Nebraska, Lincoln Engineers Club and a former member of Southern Hills Presbyterian Church.
His greatest passion was his family. Craig is survived by his children, Lori (Renee) Rocheleau of Maryland, Craig A. (Jennifer) Smith of Pennsylvania; sister, Linda Reed; brother, Conrad (Carol) Smith; and a devoted grandfather of 5. Preceded in death by his wife, Katherine E. (Ochs)Smith, and his parents. His family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the caring, dedicated professionals at the Woodlands at Hillcrest and CHI Hospice.
Memorial Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday (3-28-19) at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Dr., Lincoln, NE, 68516.
No visitation/Cremation.
