Muriel Jeanette Schiermann, 88, of Greenwood, NE passed away September 27, 2021. Born January 14, 1933, in Alvo, NE to Dick George and Muriel Vidalia (Vickers) Fischer.
Muriel was a graduate of Alvo High School class of 1951. She married Robert Allen Schiermann on September 26, 1951.
Muriel worked at K-Mart in Lincoln, Western Electric in Omaha, Bakers Candy, KZCO, Inc., and Mayor and Planning Commission of Greenwood. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and painting.
Family members include her daughters Cheryl McVey, Shelbyville, KY, Michelle “Mickey” (Cecil) Bullington, and Jodi (LG) Dudley, Tryon, NE; grandchildren Michelle Myers, Louisville, KY, Rebecca McVey, Shelbyville, KY, Jennifer (Richard) Player, Macedonia, IA, Matthew (Ashley) Childers, and Michael (Ashley) Childers, Council Bluffs, IA, Kate (Ben) Heppner, Lincoln, Kim (Jake) Bruns, Sterling, Brent (Nicole) Schiermann, Lincoln, Jessica Dudley (fiancé Jeremy Lack), Shreveport, LA, and Torry Childers, Casper, WY; 21 great-grandchildren; sister Carol Hoffman, Elmwood; sister-in-law Phyllis Fischer, Lincoln; daughter-in-law Gale Schiermann, Waverly.
Preceded in death by her husband Robert, parents, son Randall, brother Lee Fischer, brother-in-law Don Hoffman, and son-in-law Albert P. McVey, Jr.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday (10-2-21) Greenwood Christian Church, 447 Elm St. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood, NE. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday at Greenwood Christian Church.
