Obituary

Hess Baluch

July 17, 1934 - April 30, 2026

Born in Kabul, Afghanistan on July 17, 1934, Hess made Lincoln his home from the age of 18. He attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska, where he met Jacqueline, the love of his life. They remained devoted to one another until her passing in 2018, and he is now reunited with his beloved Jackie.

He lived a lively and joyous life and was deeply dedicated to the community he called home. He enjoyed good food, fine wine, and meaningful conversation, and his love for family only grew stronger over the years.

He leaves behind a large and loving family across the United States and Europe—including many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews—all of whom cherished their time with him.

Burial services will be held on Thursday, May 7th at 1:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home & Cemetery.

My favorite Hess lines- “Meg…I must be the luckiest man alive…” “Meg…God really loves me.” “Meg, don’t worry about things you cannot contol. And work on the things you can” I will miss him so much. Love to John, Don and his entire family XOXO
