Jerry was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Iron Workers Local 21, Omaha, NE. He also owned NU Life Siding and in his later years renovated homes.
Family members include his wife Soni; sons Larry (Rebecca) Claycomb and Chris (Janet) Claycomb; step daughter Sheri (Randy) Haas; grandchildren Robert Claycomb, Matt (Christi) Claycomb, Mike (Tiffany) Claycomb, Danielle (Timothy) McEwen, and Sidney (Spencer) Edwards; great grandchildren Macy Claycomb, Hunter Anstine, Theodora Anstine, Silas Anstine, Jack Edwards, Kamden Claycomb, Randi Edwards, Hayden Claycomb, Rhett Edwards, and Millie Claycomb; brother Dennis (Lana) Claycomb, brother-in-law Rod Sampson; sister-in-law Erma Claycomb; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Boyd (Marie) Claycomb and Marjorie Kiger, brothers Wayne and Arthur, nephew Bobby, and sister-in-law Shirley Sampson. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Baby, who brought him years of companionship.
He will be lovingly remembered for being his grandchildren’s #1 fan. Watching them perform and compete brought him so much joy. He had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Husker football and volleyball, small-town bars, fish dinners and traveling in their motor home. He enjoyed their years living in Canyon Lake, TX.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 27th from 12-2PM on the clubhouse patio at Firethorn Golf Club, 9301 Firethorn Lane, Lincoln, NE 68520.
