Dan saw the goodness in life and in people. Since he was little, he would wake up singing with a song in his heart. You could still hear him singing, humming or whistling as he went about his day. He appreciated a beautiful sunrise, posting a lot of them as he headed into the early shift at Lowes. He loved to write poems, stories, and was in the process of writing a play. He loved trying new recipes, watching a good thunderstorm come in (and narrating it), watching the Huskers, and spending time with family, especially his niece and nephew. He was a great listener to many friends and helped where he could as his heart was as big as the state he loved: Nebraska.
Dan’s memory will be with us forever. There are thousands of stories about Dan that show his kindness, goofiness, friendship and how he touched each of our lives.
