Verna Mae (Dankenbring) Smith, 87, of Lincoln, passed away May 21, 2018. Born October 20, 1930 in Bruning, Nebraska to Oscar and Frieda (Muehling) Dankenbring.
Preceded in death by her husband James C. Smith, son James L. and brother Larry Dean Dankenbring.
Survived by her sons The Rev. David L. (Sue) Smith and Steven W. (Leann) Smith; grandchildren Aaron (Jennifer) Smith, Adam (Emily) Smith, David James (Dawn)Smith, U.S. Army, and Eliza (Ian) Johnson; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters Donna Schmidt, Evyln Harris; sister-in-law Karen Dankenbring; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of fun loving friends.
Rite of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. Friday (5-25-18) St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 1015 Lancaster Lane with Rev. Kim Osborn officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.
