Richard “Dick” Burton, 84, of Lincoln, passed away March 3, 2016 at home. Born in Des Moines, IA on May 17, 1931 to Harold and Laveta (Boal) Burton. Graduated from Beebeetown H.S. in Iowa (1949) and Union College with a degree in Business Administration, his Master’s from UNL with a minor in art. Dick taught in Spangle, WA for 5 years and at Union College in the Business and Art departments. Dick owned and operated Burton’s Flower Shop until selling the business and retiring.
Survived by his wife, Amy; children, Marcia Holder, Doug (Julie) Burton, Julie Burton and David (Roxi) Burton; granddaughters, Marci, Brittney, Diondra , Alex and Nicole; great-grandsons, Jalen M. and Jalen R.; great-granddaughter, Zaida; sister, Darlene (John) Killpack of Logan, IA; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Delores. As per his wishes there will be no public services.
Celebration Gathering will be Monday (3-7-16) from 9 a.m.- 8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
