John Allen Dahl, 93, of Davey passed away November 22, 2019. John was born to Ben and Hilda Dahl on a farm three miles west of Davey, NE. He farmed with his family and then spent time in Germany from 1952 to 1954 in the U.S. Army. Later in 1954, until his retirement, he was employed at Lincoln Public Schools as a bricklayer. On August 20 he married Judy Halbert. They lived many happy years in Davey and had four children.
John was a longtime member of the American Legion Post #244 in Ceresco and Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He Believed freedom was not free and Go Huskers!
Survivors include children, Kathy Benes, Vicki (Jim) Agro, Mark (Cindy) Dahl, and Karen (Bruce) Garcia; grandchildren, Jonathan (Nicole), and Mitchell Benes, Aaron and Nathan Dahl; great grandchildren, Mya, Dylan; sister, Lucille Beranek (Dennis); many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Judy; brother Elmer; sisters Betty Edstrom and Doris Sinkule.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday November 26, 2019 at Roper and Sons 4300 ‘O’ St., Lincoln, NE. Public visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Family Greet will greet from 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2019 with family greeting friends.
Memorial contributions will be given to the family for future designation.
