Herman Henry Neitzel, Jr.

August 14, 1933 - September 29, 2022

Herman Henry Neitzel, Jr., 89, of Lincoln passed away September 29, 2022. Born August 14, 1933, in Lincoln, NE to Herman and Martha (Nehring) Neitzel, Sr.

Herman served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 39 years, first as a machinist, then as a foreman, retiring in 1988.

Herman was a member of the Holy Savior Lutheran Church.

Family members include his son Alan Neitzel, Lincoln; daughter Debra Neitzel, Beatrice; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brother Daryl (Norma) Neitzel, Prior Lake, MN, and special friend Dorothy Schreiber, Lincoln.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife Marcelle, son Herman D. Neitzel, sisters Alice, Elaine, and Joan.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (10-4-22) Holy Savior Lutheran Church, 4710 North 10th Street.

Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the family.
