He graduated from Alliance High School. Then he attended Nebraska Wesleyan University where he met Sharon Lefler. They were married for 63 years.
After graduation he taught instrumental music at several southeast Nebraska schools, as well as Council Bluffs, Iowa. He always knew how to encourage his band students to do their best.
After retirement he had time to devote to the Masonic organizations that were so important to him. He is a 60-year member of his Masonic lodge, a 50-year member of Scottish Rite and Shrine, and a long-time member of Eastern Star and York Rite. In 2023 he was Potentate of Sesostris Shrine in Lincoln. Then he was Grand Commander of Nebraska York Rite Grand Commandery in 2024 and Grand High Priest of Nebraska York Rite Grand Chapter in 2025. He delighted in learning as much as he could about all of these groups.
Family members include his wife, Sharon; son Rod (Teresa) Moeller, Sioux Falls, SD. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Mardyne.
Funeral service: 11:00 am Monday, November 2, 2026, Bethlehem Covenant Church, 18841 N. 98th, Waverly, NE.
Visitation Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 3-5 pm at Roper and Sons Waverly Chapel, 10851 N. 148th St.
