Josi was such a fun person to know at Lincoln High. I wasn’t one of the theater kids per se, but Josi always made me feel welcome at those events. When we got older and they worked at The Mill, I swear I never had to pay for a drink when they were working. What a kind soul… I am glad we got to cheer together for Paul at Gravel Worlds this summer. I will remember your warmth and smile. I am sending so many hugs to everyone grieving this loss. Josi, you were and are loved.

I met Josi through our work at Nebraska Public Media when they joined our staff as an Audio Student Worker. They were always in good spirits and carried a sense of joy and pride in their work. While we didn’t get to chat often outside of work, I remember speaking with them about their passion for games and creating audio that encapsulates the feelings of a virtual world. They were truly one of a kind. My deepest condolences to their family.

I knew Josi through our shared degree at UNL. He had a work ethic that truly inspired me. He was the type of person who improved every project that he contributed to. I am sure wherever he is now, he is meeting the moment with the competence and charisma he had in life.

Josiah and I met in school and we spent a lot of time together at The Foundry. He helped light a bunch of projects with me and our classmates. He was a really quick learner and was always super eager to lend a hand on set. We endearingly started calling him ‘The Fastest Grip West of the Mississip’. Not just helpful at work, but also as a friend, Josiah was honest and kind, and I’m grateful to call him my friend.

I met Josiah through the Lincoln High Theatre Department. He was so funny and thoughtful, and just a joy to be around. I was lucky to bump into him years later at a tech day for the Lincoln Community Playhouse. It was wonderful to see his warm smile again and to reconnect. I wish you well on your next journey Josi.

I will always picture a young Josiah playing carpenter’s helper to his Dad building stairs up to the 2nd story deck of the house that my husband Chuck was restoring in Malcolm, NE. He was always so polite to me and I truly enjoyed having him out to explore the old acreage there. My heart breaks for Susan & Amanah. Much love to you both!

I spent so much of my high school career with Josiah. He was in my first band with me. I remember when he got his drums, he was so happy. He had been playing on some buckets and those drums lit him up. Josiah truly was one of the best friends I had in my youth and he will be missed. “De new!”
