Ruth ‘Betty’ Witham, 85, Lincoln, died Tuesday (8-25-09) at Tabitha. Born (1-27-24) in Havelock, Nebraska to Granville and Martha (Eggers) Bishop. Worked at Vision-Eze as a contact lens manufacturer. Member: Havelock Christian Church. Honorary member of the Nebraska Navy. Enjoyed sewing, needlework, fishing, playing cards, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Loved talking to people and telling her stories. Avid Cubs fan, Word Search Puzzles and Bingo. A very positive, loving and caring person.
Family members include sister: Dorothy Waxham; daughter, son-in-law: Beth and Bill Franzen; sons: Kenneth Witham, all of Lincoln, Gerald Witham, Crete; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, former husband, Willie Witham, brothers Lloyd and Willie, sister Lucille, grandson Eric Dean Franzen and great grandson Eric Daniel Franzen.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday (8-28-09) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Rev. Jan and Rev. Pete Mills officiating. Prior private graveside service.
