Richard R. Bruning

February 27, 1945 - December 31, 2022

Richard R. Bruning, age 77, peacefully went out with the year on December 31, 2022, in Lincoln NE. Born February 27, 1945 in Bellevue NE.

Dick spent his professional time as a self-employed investor and businessman who lived life the way he wanted to. He took interest in planes, trains and automobiles, art and wildlife, travel and golf, and rare and antique firearms. He was the provider for his family and cherished time spent together. He was a friend to many. Dick enjoyed annual trips for family vacation and hunting to wild and scenic Wyoming and fishing in Missouri. The Chicago O Gauge Show and the Las Vegas Gun Show were great pastimes. Graduate and trustee of Kemper Military School ‘63, Lincoln Southeast High School ‘63, and Nebraska Wesleyan University ‘67.

During his lifetime, he supported Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, was a member of The Elks Club and Country Club of Lincoln, and lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

Preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Peg Bruning, sister Joan Ediger, step-father Cornie Arendt.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years Barbara J. (Noyes) Bruning, daughter and son-in-law Katie and Nate Pinch, daughter and son-in-law Jennie Bruning and Corey Miller, twin brother and sister-in-law Donald and Janet Bruning, sister in-law and brother-in-law Josephine and Steve Bowers, numerous nieces and nephews and their families, and friends near and far.

Memorial service with reception to follow at 12:00 noon on Monday January 16, 2023, at Lincoln Station Great Hall, 201 N. 7th St, Lincoln NE.
