K. Kirk Jamison went home to his Savior on February 17, 2026, peacefully at home with his family in Lincoln, Nebraska following a year battling cancer.

Kenneth Kirk Jamison was born In Red Oak Iowa on May 17, 1944. He was well-known in his hometown of Villisca, Iowa as a fun, hardworking and entrepreneurial boy. Kirk graduated from Villisca High School, and Iowa State University and was a veteran of the Iowa Army National Guard. He married Trula Rausch on July 1, 1967.

He was a co-founder of the firm U.S. Agricredit and later worked as an investment banker at Kirkpatrick Pettis and as Executive Director of the Nebraska 4-H Foundation. He was deeply proud of his roots as a farmer and the contributions he made to Nebraska and Iowa agriculture. He and Trula owned and operated 3 Casey’s General Stores between 1979 and 2001.

Kirk was a longtime board member of Nebraska Farm Bureau and was active in Ag Builders of Nebraska, Rotary, and Crucible Club. He enjoyed ski trips with his family and golfing at Hillcrest Country Club. In recent years, Kirk and Trula liked to entertain friends and play with grandchildren on their small farm “Eagles Roost” south of Eagle. Kirk and Trula are long-time members of Messiah Lutheran Church.

Trula, my heart goes out to you as you adjust to life without Kirk. He was a warm, outgoing person who was larger than life. I know you will miss him, but I join my prayers to yours in gratitude that he is with God where there is no cancer or sadness — only the light of God’s grace.

Kirk and Trula were members of the Cornhusker Ski Club. I remember one trip taken in 1985 to Winter Park & Silver Creek to ski with our kids. We so enjoyed Kirk and Trula and the tales of raising their kids. He had a wonderful sense of humor. Also, I would sometimes see Trula in Clarinda, IA where I’d go in early June for the Glenn Miller Birthplace Society events.

Kirk enjoyed life to its fullest but also made his mark on Nebraska agriculture with many roles and positions in agri-businesses and board throughout his years. When I first started my career on Capitol Hill in 1985 during the heart of the farm crisis, Kirk was one of a few that put forth reasonable ideas to address tough problems. His 30 years plus serving on Nebraska Farm Bureau’s supporting board and corporation was a testament to his commitment to Nebraska agriculture. Thanks Trula and family for supporting his time in these crucial leadership positions.

Trula and family, Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers and I have been thinking about you and Kirk since I saw both of you at our Nebraska Farm Bureau Convention! If you knew Kirk, you knew that smile. He always seemed to have one on his face, just like the one in the photo. It was the kind of smile that made you feel comfortable right away. It didn’t matter what kind of day you were having, seeing Kirk could make it a little better. He had an easy way about him. He made people feel welcome, like they belonged. Whether it was a quick conversation or a long visit, he showed up with warmth and kindness every time. I have played golf with Kirk and Trula many times and it was always a great time. We’ll miss you, Kirk. Thanks for the light you brought into our lives. RIP my friend! Hugs to you Trula and your family!
