Berkeley arrived on March 28, 2026, at 25 weeks gestation due to severe Intrauterine Growth Restriction. Immediately after delivery she showed her feisty energy and what a fighter she was, amazing everyone and stealing the hearts of her parents, sisters, and the Bryan NICU staff. Berkeley fought hard and amazed everyone by her progress consistently surpassing milestones they didn’t expect at her age. Berkeley loved skin to skin time with mom and dad, hand hugs, and wrapping her hand around her mom and dad’s finger. Berkeley also loved keeping the NICU staff on their toes, always keeping them guessing if she wanted to lay on her belly, face the window or door, or lay on her back. We are so proud of our girl and promise to continue the fight she showed in her short life through everything we do.
Berkeley is survived by her parents, Casey and Rachelle Dittenber, sisters Raelynn and Adelaide of Lincoln, grandparents Jerry Sr. And Shelley Dittenber of Lincoln, Marge Barry of Lincoln, Bob Barry of Wahoo, many aunts and uncles, cousins, and extended family; and all the wonderful and supportive staff from the Bryan NICU.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday May 1, 2026, at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 O St.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday May 2, 2026, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 8550 Pioneers Blvd.
