Jane M. Philpott

November 12, 1948 - April 28, 2026

Mrs. Jane Marie Philpott, 77, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Bryan East with her loving husband at her side.

Jane was born in Friend, Nebraska. She was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Friend and then lived in Dorchester, graduating from Dorchester High in 1966. She worked for a short while as a Key Punch Operator, converting information to machine readable data. Jane then graduated from Lincoln School of Nursing in 1968. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Lincoln General Hospital for 45 years before retiring in 2013. Over her years, Jane enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, camping with family and friends, and tending her garden.

Jane is survived by her husband Tom, her son John, two granddaughters, and her brother, John Steffensen.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Roper & Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street in Lincoln.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026 in the lower level of Roper & Sons Midtown Chapel. Guests are encouraged to park in and enter from the lower parking lot on the west side of the building.

I remember Jane very well working at “Lincoln General” aka Bryan West. Always a smile on her face & a joy to work with. Wish I could have made it to her gathering. Rest in Piece Jane, you deserve it!
