Jerry served in the U. S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Post #3. Jerry worked as a wholesale lumber salesman.
Family members include his wife, Shirley; daughters Kathryn (Kevin) Potter and Barbara (Paul) Sorensen; grandchildren Caitlyn (Chris) Glaser, Jeremy (Brittany) Potter, Nicole (Mike) Sorba; great grandchildren Lorenzo Sorba and Callen Sorba; sister Dolores (Howard) Turner. Preceded in death by his parents, eight sisters and three brothers.
Memorial service: 1:00 pm Wednesday, July 8, 2026, Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 O Street. Burial at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
