He grew up in Estherville Iowa where he attended elementary and high school. He then attended the University of Nebraska and graduated with a degree in Education in 1954. He was a three-year Letterman and proud member of the University of Nebraska basketball team and in December of 1953 he set a University of Nebraska single game scoring record of 30 points against Kansas State. Along with athletic and academic accomplishments he was a member of the Nebraska ROTC program and after graduation began his commission as a Second Lieutenant and achieved the rank of Captain in the United States Army while stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia.
He was united in marriage to Betty (Searcy) in Wilber, NE in 1954 and to this union four children were born Greg (Teresa) Weber, Scott Weber, Kirk Weber, and Eric (Carrie) Weber. After graduating from the University of Nebraska and fulfillment of military service he went on to complete a Masters Degree in Education from Colorado State University in 1958. He completed additional graduate work at the University of of Nebraska and University of Colorado. He began teaching and coaching duties at Walsenburg, Colorado and eventually moved on to become Superintendent of Limon Public Schools – Limon Colorado from 1961-1990.
His accomplishments include: Member of the Colorado Association of School Executives, Colorado Association of School Boards Policy Committee, Superintendents Advisory Council to the Commissioner of Education, and the Colorado Accreditation Advisory Committee. He was a longtime member of the Colorado High School Activities Association and served as President from 1980-1981. Additionally, he served as the Chairman of the Climax/Molybdenum Company Educational Programs Committee from 1973-1990. He was a member of the Colorado State Basketball Tournament Committee and served as Director of the Colorado High School Class A Track Meet from 1970-1978.
His honors include: Induction into the Colorado High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame 1982, Induction into the Colorado High School Activities Association Hall of Fame 1995, Distinguished Service Award from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association 1980, Governors Citation for Service 1965, Rotary International Citation 1964.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, son Scott Weber, and son Eric Weber.

He held a lifelong passion for education and one of his greatest enjoyments was seeing people achieve success after overcoming obstacles and disadvantages through commitment, hard work, and dedication.
