He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lydia Belt, sisters, Carol Schroeder and Vera Connett, grandchildren, Raelynn Belt, Joseph Belt, Tommy Shaw, Doug Shaw, his second wife, Marlene Belt and nephew Mark Connett.
Survived by his children – Dennis and Cindy Belt, Janice Patterson, Keith Belt, Kari Shaw, 8 grandchildren and 16 great grand children. And the most important person in his life and longtime companion, Leora Kelley.
Densil farmed for 10 years. When they moved to Lincoln in 1969 Densil started his construction career, Belt & Belt Construction. Ever the hard worker, about the time Densil should have retired, he started pest control and worked until he was 77. Densil loved to garden, planting as many tomatoes and other veggies as he could fit in his yard. He was a huge fan of garage sales and was the best wheeler and dealer. He loved hanging out at the casinos and telling everyone about his big wins. Lucky him, he never seemed to lose.
The Belts were and are a very tight knit family. The annual family picnic was always held right around his birthday so everyone got to celebrate together. He loved his big sisters dearly and spent a lot of time with them. And as dad would say “Okey dokey”.
