Born August 20, 1949, in Sunny Side, WA to Andrew and Gladys (Guerrero) Perez.
Ruben worked for the city of Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation in Fort Wayne, Indiana for over 20 years as a foreman.
Ruben loved fishing, cooking, shopping, lawn, and gardening.
He was a jack of all trades. His favorite was working mechanics on engines. His favorite pastime was spending time with his granddaughter, Vallory Perez and her husband Victor Guerrero, fishing and going to Goodwill.
Ruben is survived by his wife, Elvia Perez; son Ruben Perez, Jr., daughter in law Stephanie Perez of Lincoln, NE; Granddaughter Vallory Perez and her husband Victor Guerrero; grandchildren Mallory, Emilio, Ruben III, Lionel, and Alejandra Perez. His brothers Tony, and Louis, sisters Lupe, Gloria, Elvira Perez. Also, his two best friends Joe Aranda of Lincoln, NE, and Tino Vasquez of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Ruben loved telling jokes anywhere he went, everyone loved him…
He will be missed and loved by many.
A closed casket visitation will be Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 1:30-2:00 pm at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 O St Lincoln, NE 68510.
