Milford R. “Hans” Hansen

Milford R. “Hans” Hansen, 93, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Born December 8, 1922 in Elba NE, to Arthur and Bodel (Nielsen) Hansen. He served his country in the Navy for two years during WWII. Hans was a carpenter and retired from the State of NE working for the Air National Guard in the Engineering Department.

Retirement years brought him much joy spending time with family and friends, volunteering and traveling in their motorhome. He traveled to all 50 states. Hans served 18 years as a volunteer of the Greenwood Fire Department. Was also a member of the Greenwood American Legion, Waverly VFW, The Rolling TeePee Camping Club and the Waverly United Methodist Church.

Family members include his children, Gloria (Roger) Comstock of Gravois Mills, MO; Sandra (Alan) Keetle of Eagle, NE; Linda (Gary) Hendrix of Lincoln; and Gary (Janet) Hansen of Ethan, SD; 8 grandchildren, Cara (Justin) Langer; Brad (Kat) Comstock; Lori (Craig) Gana; Scott (Tara) Keetle; Kristi (Steve) Gruber; Eric (Amy) Keetle; Lisa (Derek) Moore and Tyler (Alissa) Hendrix and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Evelyn, and his parents.

Visitation with family greeting friends Friday (1-29-16) 5pm-7pm at Roper and Sons Funeral Home, 4300 ‘O’ St.

Funeral service: 11 a.m., Saturday (1-30-16) at Waverly United Methodist Church. Burial at Rosehill Cemetery in Waverly.

Memorials in lieu of flowers to the Waverly U.M.C or the Waverly VFW.
