PRAIRIE HILL Learning Center was one of those lucky non-profits that “Mr. Rhodes” supported for many years. The children and the staff all looked forward to his weekly visits. We gave him our list of repairs and projects and often worked right along side him, learning as we worked. He helped in the garden, built small floor tables and a picnic table, repaired gates, replaced lost puzzle pieces, and sometimes he even took projects home to work on. We experienced true generosity first hand and practiced gratitude in return. We were fortunate to know him.

To Marv’s family Marv was a great friend to me In addition to being a great brother-in-law. We mostly talked about Mary and Don and how much we missed our partners in life. I will miss our phone conversations and letters and one thing that Marv did for me that was extra special was the flowers he sent to me on my birthday and Valentine’s Day. Mary and I were born on the same day – July 20. Meant so much and I made sure he knew it. Your grief will be great during these next months. I know how much you will miss your dad. He was the kindest and most gentle person – so much like his brother Don. In fact that was one thing that drew me to him the most – his amazing resemblance to Don and even his voice. When he would call, it was always special for me because I could hear my husband‘s voice again. Thinking of you and praying that your memories will sustain you during the difficult days ahead.
