Marianne “Nane” Christina Dagmar (De Dardel) Cunningham, 90, Lincoln, died Thursday (2/28/08). Born in Stockholm, Sweden, to Alexandre and Elsa (Hagberg) DeDardel. Raised and educated in Geneva, Switzerland. Interpreter and secretary, Stockholm. U.S. citizen 1947. Wife of career U.S. diplomat serving in Norway, Washington, D.C., Vietnam, Germany, Finland, and Quebec, Canada. In recent years she was nurtured by the caring staff of Holmes Lake Manor. Long-time member of St. Mark’s-on-the Campus Episcopal Church, former member of Kopper Kettle.
Preceded in death by husband, Francis, and infant daughter, Janet. Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law (and grandchildren), Andrew and Sherri, Lincoln (Alexander, Arthur and wife April, Nathaniel and wife Staci, Thomas, Philip and wife Renee, George, Elizabeth, Samuel, Ellen) and James and Claudia, Basel, Switzerland (Alexander, Benjamin), six great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Ann-Marie De Dardel, Stockholm, nieces and nephews.
Services: Rosary 8 p.m., Friday, Roper and Sons, 4300 O St.
Funeral Mass 10 a.m., Saturday, St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, 735 So. 36th St., Monsignor Joseph Nemec, followed by inurnment, Wyuka. Prayers at weekday Eucharist, 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1309 R St., Father Jerrold Thompson.
Memorials addressed to the family will be distributed to St. Teresa’s and St. Mark’s in the cause of Christian unity.
