Margaret A. Kolar

June 30, 1929 - November 10, 2024

Margaret A. Kolar, 95, of Lincoln, passed away on November 10, 2024. Born June 30, 1929 in Davey, Nebraska to Carl and Ann (Langdon) Olson.

She was a graduate from Northeast High School in 1946. Six years later, she met her husband, Joe, at a dance, and they married a couple years later on May 8th, 1954. Member of St. John’s Catholic Church. A devoted wife and a mother of true kindness. Her passion was raising her five children and traveling with her husband to all 50 states.

Family members include daughters, Lorine A Kolar (Omaha), Mary (Bart) Brinkman, Shickley, Jane (Dale) Kucko, Ardmore, Oklahoma; sons, Joseph “John” Kolar II, Switzerland, Jim (Mary) Kolar, Lincoln; Grandchildren, Brandon (Elisabeth) Kolar, Marinda Kolar, Valerie (Josh) Turner, Matt (Catherine) Kucko, Rachel Kolar, Ava Kolar, Leslie (Clint) Porter; 10 great-grandchildren and many friends and loved ones.

Preceded in death by parents; husband Joe Kolar; sister Marlene Kavan and brother Charles Olson.

Visitation: Thursday, November 21st from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel (4300 O Street)

Rosary: 10 am Friday, November 22nd at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel (4300 O Street) followed by a memorial Catholic Service with Fr. Lyle Johnson officiating.

Family burial will be post the chapel service.

To the Kolar family, I am so sorry for your loss. Aunt Peg was the best! She was a great cook and a wonderful person. She will live on because she raised an amazing family and made the world a better place. I am deeply grateful for the love and joy she brought into our lives.
