Elga Silenieks, 91, of Lincoln, died Monday (2-25-13). Born (11-1-21) in Riga, Latvia to Jekabs and Otilija (Freimanis) Didrichsons. Ret. 1987, Payroll Clerk at Bryan Hospital (14 yrs.) and Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital (15 yrs.). Member: The United Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Elga loved spending time outside watching the birds and working in her garden. She also enjoyed baking and sewing.
Survived by her daughters, Aina Silenieks (Tyler Sutton), Anita Silenieks (Julian Aguilar), all of Lincoln, Marga (Richard) Spangler, Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Eric Sutton, Sara, Aleks and Laura Spangler; brother, Ilmars Didrichsons, Lincoln; nieces, nephews; cousins, Vilija Eglite and family, Tukums, Latvia, Elza Zvaguze and family, Riga, Latvia, Karlis Kalejs, LaCrescenta, CA. Preceded in death by parents, husband Janis.
Funeral Service: 10:00 am Saturday (3-2-13) The United Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3300 C St. with Pastor Vitauts Grinvalds officiating.
Memorials to the church, Capital Humane Society or Tabitha Foundation.
Visitation: 2-8 pm Friday with family present from 6-8 pm at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ St and one hour prior to service time at the church.
