Edith Filley Garey, 90, Lincoln, died Monday, June 9, 2008. Former Home Economist and Teacher. Born in Lincoln, NE, December 13, 1917, to H. Clyde and Creta (Warner) Filley. A graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a BS degree. Member of PHI Epsilon Omicron, Palladian, DAR, PEO, Garden Club, First-Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ.
Family members include sons: Richard Garey, Washington, DC; James (Margaret) Garey, Rice Lake, WI; grandson, Jay (Betsy) Garey, Minneapolis, MN; great granddaughter Anna; sisters: Marjorie Stover, Tucson; Dorothy Schwartzkopf, Lincoln; nieces, nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Carroll “Bud” and son Philip.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008, Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ St.
