Dean S. Douglas

August 4, 1933 - November 16, 2023

Dean Samuel Douglas, of Lincoln, passed away November 16, 2023.  Born on August 4, 1933, in Palmyra, NE to Arthur and Dorothy (Goodale) Douglas.

Dean grew up on a farm outside of Palmyra and graduated from Palmyra High School.  After graduation he attended Ag College at the University of Nebraska and then went into the United States Army and served our great country from 1953-1955.  He then went to work for NC+ Hybrids for 39 years until his retirement in 1998.

Dean was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and family man.  He loved raising and breeding Iris for 20 years after retiring.  He was also very active in the Northeast Rotary club where he served many offices and was president for a few years.

Family members include his wife of 51 years, Judy; his children, daughter Deena (Russ), son Larry (Barb), daughter Lisa, son Brad (Helen), and son Brian (Shelly); 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; sisters Sue (Gary) and Pam (Don).

Proceeded in death by his parents; son, Mark; siblings, Dolly, Winnie, and Shirley; grandson, Nicholas; and great grandson Everett.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday November 27th at Elmwood Christian Church, 311 N 5th street, Elmwood, Nebraska, 68349

No visitation

Bill and I are so sad to hear about Dean. Dean was such a sweet happy guy, all the times we spent at grandma and grandpa Stickney’s house laughing with Dean & Judy….you guys were always so much fun. Our prayers are with you Judy, we pray the Lord gives you some peace during this tough time. Love Bill & Terre Stickney
