 Dawn JoAnne (Brannin) McEntarffer

September 30, 1965 - August 26, 2010

Dawn JoAnne (Brannin) McEntarffer, 52, Lincoln, wife, mother, grandmother, passed away on Thursday (8-26-10).   Dawn was devoted to her family always putting them first.  As the cornerstone of the family, Dawn continually strived to bring her children, grandchildren and husband together as one. One of Dawn’s loves was to coach swimming.  She was a long time coach for the City Parks and Recreation League and also the Special Olympics.  This past summer she spent a week as an assistant swim coach for Team Nebraska at the USA National Games. She loved watching cardinals and working with plants and flowers.  Dawn was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. Routinely putting another before herself, Dawn’s spontaneous generosity and always forgiving heart will forever be missed and never forgotten.

Dawn is survived by her husband Frank; daughter Allison Piippo (James); son Benjamin (Michaela); daughters Sarah McEntarffer and Emma McEntarffer; granddaughters Hayley and Lily; grandsons Carson, Jack and Max; mother Rosalie Perna; step-mother Marcia Jones (Bob); sisters Dana Meister (Stephen), Deborah Butler (Rick); brother Nicholas Perna; mother-in-law Marilyn McEntarffer; brother-in-law Danny McEntarffer. Preceded in death by father Ronald Brannin; brothers Doug and David Brannin; father-in-law John McEntarffer.

Memorial Service: 6:00 p.m. Tuesday (8-31-10) St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 8550 Pioneers Blvd.

Memorials may be sent to Lincoln Shooting Stars Special Olympics (Easterday Recreation Center 6130 Adams Street, 68507); Lincoln Northeast FCR classes (Lincoln Northeast High School 2635 N. 63rd, 68507) or St. Marks United Methodist Church Youth Ministry (8550 Pioneers Blvd., 68516).

No Visitation/Cremation.
