Thelma Eileen (Pettigrew) Townsend

August 11, 1933 - December 25, 2013

Thelma Eileen (Pettigrew) Townsend, 80, of Las Vegas, was called home on Dec. 25, 2013. Born Aug. 11, 1933 in Lincoln to the late Lester H. & Eileen E. Pettigrew. Thelma is a graduate of College View High School, and attended Lincoln School of Commerce. She was an accomplished real estate broker, catering and event manager, restaurant owner, and eventually worked for the State of Nebraska, Dept of Roads.

She was a talented artist with many hobbies. Thelma knew the beauty of being a giver with unconditional love. She opened her home to those who had none, she gave to those in need. She was madly in love with her 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She loved to travel and took numerous trips across the U.S., Europe and the Caribbean.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Kenneth Blaise; loving children, Nancy Beguhn (Scott), David Kuebler, Cathy Kuebler, Kristi Townsend Knoke (William), and Aliece Harris (Mark); grandchildren, Dana Hollister (Steve), Lyndsay Nahf (Blake), Whitney Weber (Matt), Nathan Beguhn, Lee, Cole, Cade, Kai Kuebler, Shawn Graham (Shirley), Travis Brock (Tara), Kyle Harris, Kaitlin Harris; great grandchildren, Tyler, Dominic, Cameron, Caden, Cashton, Henry, George, Molly, Austin, Evan, Adien, Mason, Maddox and Jackson; brother, Delmar (Martha) Pettigrew; sister-in-law, Dorothy Pettigrew. Preceded in death by brothers, Burt Pettigrew, Dee and wife Barbara.

Services: 11 am Monday, 1/13 at Roper and Sons Funeral Home.

Viewing: 12 noon-8 pm Sunday, 1/12, at the funeral home.
