Obituary

Anne E. Burns

September 16, 1941 - March 11, 2025

Anne E. Burns, 83, of Lincoln, passed away on March 11, 2025. She was born on September 16, 1941, in Sioux City, IA, to Earl and Margaret (McIntyre) Tiller. In addition to her children, Anne was a mother to many others over the years, helping them grow into the people they would become. She enjoyed sewing clothing and blankets for family and friends. In recent years, Anne developed close relationships with the ladies in her coffee/exercise group. She also had many longtime friends from her bowling league.

Anne met her husband Dick in high school, and they married in 1958. They proved that true love does exist. They had five children: Rich, Steve, Sheri, Ron and Jenifer; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Anne’s husband, Dick and her oldest son, Rich, preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

I know Anne will be so missed by her friends and family. She gave me great memories spending time with her family growing up and I will cherish them. Rest in peace Anne, you are in God’s hands now.

Summertimes, strawberry Nestle Quik, swimming and Railroad Barron nights. A stern and steady love, no-nonsense yet always present and dedicated to family. This was my Aunt Anne. She was a good woman and I will miss her dearly. ❤️
